Applies to: myViewBoard 3.0 on ViewBoard IFP, with the Companion app
Issue
You cannot sign in to a ViewBoard IFP by scanning its QR code with the Companion app.
What to try first
Work through these checks in order:
Confirm the ViewBoard supports Companion sign-in: it must be running vLauncher 3.0 or the ViewBoard Launcher as its active launcher. The Google Launcher on EDLA devices is not supported.
Confirm the ViewBoard is connected to a stable network with internet access.
On the Companion app, make sure you're signed in as Host with a ViewSonic admin account, not a student or participant account, before trying to scan.
On the ViewBoard, tap Sign In on the start-up screen to display a fresh QR code, then tap the QR code icon in Companion to open the scanner.
Update the Companion app to the latest version if scanning does not trigger sign-in.
If the code still does not scan, reload the sign-in screen on the ViewBoard to generate a new QR code and try again.
Additional notes
Some additional points that may be useful:
Every ViewBoard IFP generates its own unique QR code, so make sure you're scanning the code on the correct device if multiple boards are nearby.
This sign-in flow is separate from device enrollment via QR code, which entity admins use to register a myViewBoard instance under their Entity.
If the issue continues
Submit a support ticket if QR code sign-in still fails after confirming the launcher, network, and app version above.
