Applies to: myViewBoard 3.0

Issue

Fonts change, appear substituted, or look different after opening or importing a lesson file in myViewBoard 3.0, especially one created in the classic myViewBoard.

What to try first

Work through these steps in order:

  1. Before opening or sharing a file across devices, check that the resolution and aspect ratio match: 1920×1080 for laptops, and 3840×2160 for 65"+ IFPs, both at a 16:9 ratio. A resolution mismatch is a common cause of layout and font-position shifts, not just font substitution.

  2. If a specific font looks wrong, use myViewBoard's option to choose a matching font style, or let the system automatically replace fonts from your device's system settings for readability.

  3. Use "Snap to Grid" or "Align" tools when creating content to reduce layout drift when the file is later opened on a different device.

  4. Avoid placing text or components too close to the edge of the canvas, since layout shifts are more noticeable there.

Additional notes

Font substitution happens because the font-naming architecture differs between the classic myViewBoard and myViewBoard 3.0, so the system may not always find an exact font match. This is expected compatibility behavior, not data loss — your original file and its OLF structure are not damaged.

If the issue continues

Contact support if fonts still look incorrect after matching resolution and aspect ratio and checking the font settings above.
