Applies to: myViewBoard 2.0 and myViewBoard 3.0 on ViewSonic interactive displays / ViewBoard IFPs
It depends on the model. Most ViewSonic interactive displays (ViewBoard IFPs) released after 2021 support an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade to myViewBoard 3.0. Older models — generally those before the IFP50-3 series — may not be compatible due to memory limitations and will continue running myViewBoard 2.0 without affecting normal teaching use.
How to check your device
Follow these steps:
Check your display's model name (usually in the device settings or on the panel itself).
Compare it against the myViewBoard IFP compatibility list. As a general rule, the device must be capable of running Android 11 or above to fully support myViewBoard 3.0.
If your model is listed as supported, it will receive myViewBoard 3.0 automatically via an OTA update. If it isn't listed or doesn't meet the requirement, it will remain on myViewBoard 2.0.
Additional Notes
Some additional points that may be useful:
Devices that stay on myViewBoard 2.0 aren't losing support — this keeps performance stable on older hardware.
For Windows, macOS, and iPadOS devices (rather than IFPs), compatibility is based on OS version, not the IFP compatibility list.
